Law Enforcement community thanks Valente Brothers

Dear Pedro, Gui, and Joaquim Valente:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the awesome seminar you provided for our Law Enforcement community. Among the attendees, were representatives from various Law Enforcement branches; Miami-Dade Police Department, Miami-Dade Corrections, Miami Gardens Police Department, Monroe County Sheriff, Miami Beach Police Department, U.S. Customs, U.S. Border Patrol, U.S. Southern Command, U.S. Homeland Security, I.C.E. (Immigration and Customs), Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms and Explosives (A.T.F.).

The level of expertise you demonstrated, along with your effective method of training and professionalism, made our seminar unique in the training world and an experience we will not forget. In a mere three days of training you have given the attendees a preparation that could easily save their lives if they faced an attack from a larger and stronger aggressor. How could we ever put a monetary value on that? How can we ever repay that kind of a debt? In our world, where we often lose some of our own to senseless violence, this is highly appreciated.

It is from the bottom of our hearts that we thank you as a community, as a Law Enforcement Family, for your continued support and tutorship. You have opened the doors of your prestigious family to us and these bonds will not be easily broken.

If there is ever anything we can do for you, please feel free to contact us.

Respectfully,

Victor Gatell

For the past three days I had the honor to train with you brothers. As a police officer in Dade County I know that the training received will possibly save my life. You made my first time participating in this type of training a life changing moment. I look forward to continuing my training with your family. Thank you for your patience, knowledge, and motivation!

Valente Brothers in Coral Gables

The new school will be just minutes away from the University of Miami

Valente Brothers was established in South Florida in 1995. After over a decade of success, maintaining the principles, ideals and methods that Grandmaster Hélio Gracie left for us, an affiliate program was designed to extend the Valente Brothers reach. With two affiliate schools up and running in Fort Lauderdale and Pembroke Pines, Valente Brothers is now returning down south to open our home in the city of Coral Gables. Back in 1995, Professor Pedro Valente founded his first Jiu-Jitsu club at the University of Miami where he taught several students and faculty members. The school located at 275 University Dr. is currently under construction and is scheduled to be open for classes this year.

Reserve your spot at VB Coral Gables now!

Professor Jimmy Robertson will be leading the new affiliate.

Jimmy started learning Jiu-Jitsu from Professor Pedro Valente in 1993. Jimmy and Pedro’s friendship dates back to their high school days at the American School of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In 1993 both decided to enroll at the University of Miami where they became roommates. Influenced by Pedro’s love for Jiu-Jitsu and Royce’s amazing victories in the Ultimate Fighting Championship Jimmy was attracted by the Jiu-Jitsu philosophy. Soon Jimmy became one of Pedro’s most technical students. Jimmy’s loyalty, moral attributes and years of dedication combined with his technical abilities allowed him the opportunity to be the first person to take the Valente Brothers Instructors Course. In December of 2003 Professor Pedro Valente awarded Jimmy his Black Belt and instructor’s certification. Moreover, in 2007, Jimmy was awarded a Professor’s Diploma by Valente Brothers. Jimmy also holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Information Systems and Management of Information Systems.

The Youth Fellowship Challenge is a success

This year’s summer Youth Fellowship Challenge (YFC) was once again a success. With boys and girls from North Miami Beach, Pembroke Pines and Fort Lauderdale, and nearly 200 parents and friends in attendance, it proved once again to be a winning experience for everyone involved. Professor Pedro Valente opened the challenge with a speech reminding all participants, parents, and friends of the fellowship and positive nature of the YFC. Professor Valente also explained that Jiu-Jitsu provides children with the ability to improvise based on the skills they acquire during training and that this ability is extremely valuable in many other areas of life.

As usual, the challenge was divided into two parts. Initially, the little champs and juniors took action and later Juniors 1 and 2 demonstrated their skills. A great attribute of the YFC is that it provides participants with the opportunity to perform under pressure in a safe and positive setting.

In closing, Professor Valente thanked all present and in special the parents who believe in the Valente Brothers youth program and continuously support the school.
