As many of you know, our father, Dr. Pedro Valente (1938–2016), dedicated his life to medicine and became internationally recognized as a pioneer in modern plastic surgery. Recently, while organizing our archives, we came across two remarkable articles from 1973, one published in The Washington Post and the other in the Los Angeles Times.

The Washington Post highlighted the rising demand for aesthetic procedures among men and cited Dr. Valente’s work as an important influence in advancing techniques that reshaped the field . Around the same time, the Los Angeles Times profiled him in Rio de Janeiro, emphasizing his surgical precision and his ability to help patients regain confidence and vitality through face-lift procedures .
